Schools
There are schools for all grades within walking distance. The highly regarded Woodkirk School is on Reine Road and Morley High is at Fountain Street. Both are within easy walking distance of the property.
There are several highly regarded junior and infants schools in the vicinity.
Local Shopping
There is local newsagent - postoffice - general store at the end of the street and fish and chip and Chinese take-aways a few yards further.
A large Asda superstore is a few streets away, and a Morrisons superstore within Morley town centre itself is within easy walking distance. Morley has a wide variety of local shops and branches of national and regional chains. Traditional butchers, bakers and fruit and veg shops are all available, as are banks, building societies, hairdressers and many more. There is an undercover market. Annually for the fast few years there has been a continental food market which has grown steadily and now takes up the whole or the outdoor main shopping avenue for three days over a summer weekend.
Major Retail Parks
The White Rose Shopping Centre hosts a branch of many of the major clothing retail chains and a host of other stores. Their web site contains a full list. There are restaurants and cafeterias within some of the major stores, within the thoroughfare and a cluster of fast food outlets with a central dining area on the first floor.
To get there by road, turn right when leaving Harrop Avenue and follow that road to J28, where you continue by taking the second exit from the roundabout, from whence the White Rose is wel signposted. There are also frequent buses from Morly town centre.
Birstall Shopping Park is another facillity with many household names including Ikea, Borders, Toys R Us, with a full list on their web site. There are also several American or Tex-Mex style restaurants such as Frankie & Benny's, TGI Fridays, among others.
The park is well served by bus. B road, turn left out of the avenue and follow the same road for a couple of miles or so to the large roundabout at J27 of the M62. Take the second exit then the first exit at the next roundabout. The retail park will be on your right with many of the restaurants and the Showcase Cinema complex on your left. You can access all from the next roundabout.
Leeds City Centre
The centre of vibrant the City of Leeds is eight miles away, with enviable shopping facilities including a branch of Harvey Nicchols, a plethora of options for dining, theatre, live music to suit all tastes, hotels, meeting and conference facilities. Its indoor and outdoor markets, which butt onto one anoter and are immediately behind the bus station, has a well deserved national and international reputation.
You can trvel there from Morley by train, bus or yuo can drive. The quickest route is to drive to J27 as if for Birstall Shopping Park as above, but take the first exit onto the M621 and take the relevant exit for the part of Leeds you wish to visit.
